Overview
A unique opportunity to build the finance function of a fast-growing, PE-backed buy-and-build platform from the ground up. As the group's first CFO, you will bring structure to the holding, professionalise finance across the portfolio companies and drive the integration playbook, while working closely with the shareholder on an ambitious consolidation strategy.
About the Company
Our client is a Dutch buy-and-build platform in the construction industry. In March 2026, a private equity investor acquired a majority stake in a leading full-service dismantling company, together with the existing shareholders and a newly appointed management team.
The platform company is a complete finishing contractor, covering both dry finishing (e.g. drywall, ceilings, plasterwork) and wet finishing, for residential and non-residential projects, both renovation and new build. It often operates as a subcontractor to (main) contractors, generating approximately €50 million in revenue with a healthy EBITDA margin.
This market is highly fragmented. Increasing regulatory pressure and digitalisation are major challenges for many companies, which can be addressed far more effectively from within a group. The group follows a decentralised model: local entrepreneurship is preserved, while the holding plays a facilitating role.
The group is moving fast. The first add-on was closed in the summer of 2026, two further acquisitions are in due diligence, and the group expects to comprise four companies by the end of this year. The ambition is to grow to €250 million in revenue by 2030 with 10–15 companies.
Role & Responsibilities
The rapid pace of acquisitions creates a clear need for structure and support at holding level. Not all companies have a mature finance function, there is no full integration yet, and there is significant potential to share best practices and organise purchasing more centrally.
As CFO, reporting to the Group CEO, you will build the holding organisation and oversee the finance of all group companies. You will professionalise finance based on a group standard and lead the ‘light’ integration of new acquisitions, in line with the decentralised model.
You will work closely with the management team and the shareholder, including on M&A processes. This is a hands-on build role: you set the standards and you also roll up your sleeves to implement them.
