The company is a private equity–backed healthcare manufacturing organization operating in a regulated environment. The business is in a turnaround phase, with a clear mandate to improve financial discipline, strengthen controls, and preserve liquidity while supporting day-to-day operations.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board and private equity sponsor, this role is highly hands-on and execution focused.
The CFO will bring rigour to controllership, scrutinize every dollar of spend, and manage cash with urgency. This is not a strategy-only role. Success requires comfort operating in the details, making tough tradeoffs, and directly owning outcomes in a cash-constrained environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash and Liquidity Management
· Own short-term cash forecasting and daily liquidity visibility
· Manage disbursements, approvals, and payment prioritization
· Partner with private equity sponsors and lenders on cash planning
Controllership and Financial Discipline
· Lead accounting, close processes, and financial reporting
· Strengthen internal controls, policies, and approval frameworks
· Scrutinize operating expenses and identifyimmediate cost reductions
· Ensure accuracy in billing, collections, and revenue recognition
Turnaround Execution
· Establish financial triage to stabilize near-term performance
· Support restructuring initiatives and cost containment efforts
· Provide clear, fact-based recommendations toleadership
FP&A and Decision Support
· Build realistic budgets and rolling forecasts aligned to cash constraints
· Track performance versus plan and highlight risks early
· Develop simple, actionable reporting forleadership and the Board
Stakeholder and PE Engagement
· Prepare clear, concise updates for the Board and private equity partners
· Support lender communications, covenant compliance, and reporting
· Coordinate with legal and advisors as needed
Team Leadership
· Lead a lean finance and accounting team with a player-coach mindset
· Set expectations, drive accountability, and elevate core finance capabilities
Qualifications:
· Extensive experience in progressive finance and accounting leadership roles. Ideally 5+ as a CFO or Finance department leader.
· Strong controllership background with hands-onownership of accounting and close
· Experience leading organizations through financial stress, turnaround, or recovery
· Proven ability to manage cash tightly in constrained environments
· Background in healthcare manufacturing or a similar regulated industry strongly preferred
· Experience working with private equity sponsors and Boards
· Comfortable operating without excess resources or infrastructure
